Celebrating Chinese New year

Home / Celebrating Chinese New year

We celebrated the ๐Ÿชญ Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year ๐ŸŒœ, with a joyful morning tea yesterday. Rooted in over 3,500 years of tradition, the Chinese lunisolar calendar marks one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture.

This festive occasion is also observed widely across Asia; in countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Mongolia, and Indonesia, as well as by expat communities who have carried their customs across the seas.

Within our team, two members share Chinese heritage. Alice Tai ๆˆด็ถญ่‘ถ, our Senior Consultant, is Taiwanese, while Ivan Lean, our registered Organisational Psychologist, hails from Malaysia.

This year marks the Year of the Snake, also known as the Small Dragon. Previous snake years were in 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001 and 2013. ย According to the Chinese calendar, a Snake year is often regarded as a favourable period for personal growth, transformation, career progression, and stability.
