Margaret was very busy celebrating International Women’s Day by attending not 1 but 2 events.
The first being the WISER International Women’s Day High Tea at Custom’s House with the theme: Count Her In: Invest in Women. The economic empowerment of women is essential to achieving gender parity. When women are given equal access to education, employment, and leadership possibilities. entire communities thrive.
Margaret then proceeded to attend the Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) Resources Awards for Women Lunch. WIMARQ is an organisation with volunteers that offers assistance, guidance, and inspiration to women who work in, are pursuing careers in, or are taking a sabbatical from the minerals and energy industries.
Let us remember that the empowerment of women is not just a women’s issue, it’s a human rights issue. Keep empowering one another!
